NIN: FG gives fresh information, reveals what applicants must do before deadline
Federal Government gives fresh information, reveals what applicants must do before deadline.
-The government had fixed February 9, as the deadline for NIN registration
- Applicants are also urged to ensure they are all registered before the deadline elapses
The federal government has commended network subscribers who have successfully linked their Subscribers Identification Module (SIM) with the National Identification Numbers (NIN) for their painstaking efforts and commitment.
National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has asked the subscribers who have linked their SIM to dial *346# to retrieve their NIN from the mobile numbers they enrolled with.
The NIMC said via its Twitter page, @nimc_ng, that the SIM can be linked to different telecommunication operators using these codes: MTN: *785#; Airtel: *121*1#; Glo: *109*NIN#; 9Moble: *200*8#.
The commission also urged the subscribers to dial *346# using the mobile number they registered with or visit any of the NIN enrollment centers with their tracking ID to print their NIN slip.
The government agency, however, warned that the enrolment is free, adding that the NIMC management frowns at all forms of extortion of the applicants.
It stated:
"Good morning. Enrolment is FREE. The NIMC management frowns at all forms of Extortion. Kindly Report extortion via actu@nimc.gov.ng or call 08158691214, 08157691071. Thank you."
